Here I am in action, in my small but cosy workshop! Wood has been my passion for more than 20 years. My uncle was a cabinet maker so I started as an apprentice with him. After that I ran my own workshop for a number of years before leaving my home town to start a new life in Scotland.
I completed some furniture making courses to update my skills at Anniesland College and completed a wood turning course in Perthshire with Dave Gray.
After spending some time working for a local charity as a tutor in furniture making, I was keen to get back into creating my own designs so I started Reza Wood Designs.
I love having the opportunity to create new pieces. My favourite wood is ash, oak, elm and sycamore although I also use many other Scottish hardwoods and occasionally more exotic woods.
A lot of the wood I use has been reclaimed and I hate waste so if I can make something from it I never throw wood away! At the moment I'm working with Oak Scotch Whisky Barrels, creating a brand new range of products which will form The Whisky collection.
In addition to wood turning and small wood crafts I also make small pieces of furniture and mirrors.
I am always up for a design challenge so get in touch with your ideas!
